Scrapping Emiliano!

Good Monday Everyone! How are you doing? Well, I'm happy to announce that today I finally was able to start my little cousin's album that I plan to give him on his 2nd birthday in July! I'm really excited on how it's already starting out to look. I have here a couple of pages I did today. Isn't he adorable? His name is Emiliano!

I based my layouts off the sketches that Alison Richardson (The Sketchpad) created. If you haven't checked her out, please do so. She has gorgeous sketches and such wonderful ideas! I found these two sketches to be perfect for these boy layouts. It's always so hard to do boy layouts. And I know I'm not alone out there. Getting the patterned paper and the embellies to do boy layouts can bring many stress! But thankfully "Baby Boy" scrapbook stuff isn't as hard to find as teenage boy stuff or even Men patterned paper. But again, thankfully "Baby Boy" items aren't too bad.

Here's the sketch that I used for the "First Halloween" Layout:

I love the scalloped edges on her sketch. So I went with that on my layout. I'm just so happy I got to see this sketch because when I first saw it, I knew I wanted these pictures for it! I was just hoping that I still had this patterned paper for it. Here's my take on the sketch:

Here's the second sketch that Alison created:

Again another perfect sketch. I had an odd square picture that I wasn't sure where I wanted to put it in Emiliano's album. So I thought that putting it in the front page and using this sketch to guide me would work perfectly! I'm very happy with my outcome! He looks so precious and I feel that the patterned paper that I used on my version of the sketch just made him even more "baby" (if that's even possible :oP  ). Here's my take on the sketch as well:

Thanks for coming by my blog! I appreciate and enjoy your comments. :o)

Good Scrapping Friday!

Good day everyone! How's everyone enjoying their Good Friday? I hope that everyone is enjoying it with lots of love and blessings! So... any crazy stories in regards to your April Fool's? Did anyone get really pranked? Thankfully I didn't! I was trying really hard to stay focused and not let anyone "fool" me! lol!

Well, we are now in April. We are officially 1/4 done with 2010!!!!! That's gone by really fast! I can't believe it! Since every 1st of the month, my favorite sketch site updates, I have decided to do all this month's sketches. So here's the first from the Pagemaps Website! I am so happy with the outcome of this sketch! I can't wait to get started on the other ones. My goal is to have all the sketches from this month done before we leave on our 2 week vacation to Mexico City! If you haven't had a chance to check out Pagemaps you should! You'll love it.

Here's the sketch from the website:

I decided to use this sketch to make the following one. It's a picture of Maxx Dogg and Peanut Butter on their first Halloween, or may I say "Dogoween", together. Maxx was a dragon and Peanut was a firefighter. I was the princess that Maxx protected and Peanut was there to control any fire that Maxx might throw (since he was a firebreathing dragon). LOL! I know I know... I'm so bad to my dogs.. but come on.. they look so cute!!! :o)

Thanks for coming by and checking out my blog! :o)

Still Organizing: Vellum Quotes

I'm so excited because the end is near with the whole organizing of my scraproom! I received this little, very durable, box during the holidays. It was just sitting at my work desk doing nothing. So I got the idea to alter it and file away all my vellum quotes that I own.

Before Picture:

After Picture:

All I did was change the top patterned paper. I added ribbon all around the bottom portion of the box and then with scraps that were leftover from the top, I was able to matte the "Vellum Quotes" white cardstock that I inked with Colorbox Primary Colors. I then free handly wrote my "Vellum Quotes" and added the flower with the leaves. The "Vellum Quotes" is on there with 3D foam stickers to give it a good dimension and I added BasicGrey Euphoria Buttons on opposite corners. I think it's a perfect fit for my journaling/quotes in vellum.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapping Maxx Dogg

I have had the chance to scrap so much this month. Today was no exception.. I got some layouts done. I wanted to share this layout though. It's in persuasion for the adopting of animals from the pound.

This layout is very special to me. This is the day that Maxx came home with us when we adopted him from the pound. Maxx has been such a joy in our lives. As some of you know we are having difficulty getting pregnant... and I'm not saying that my doggies fill the void of a child, but they do help me with the motherly love that I want to give. I had never owned a dog before Maxx and my parents never allowed us to have pets. Maxx has changed my parents way of thinking regarding pets. They love him and they love Peanut as well (we got Peanut this past fall). We rescued Maxx from the pound, where they put animals to sleep if they are not adopted within a certain timeframe. Maxx was 1 week away to be put to sleep and let me just say that the thought of him being killed is horrifying. He is such a magnificent dog. He is loving, quiet, playful when we want him to be playful, obidient, fully trained, and extraordinarly smart. He loves us so much and his affection towards us is showen everyday. When we adopted Maxx, we were given a free vet visit. When we took him, the vet said that Maxx will be the best dog we will ever own. I asked why and he said because Maxx knew we rescued him and Maxx will do anything to show his gratitude. My husband and I didn't believe it. Then when Maxx got sick and we took him to another vet, the vet said the exact samething. And up to this date, they both have been absolutely correct. They said whenever a dog is rescued they know. Peanut is a wonderful dog as well. We didn't rescue him from a pound, but we did take him in when his owners were not able to keep him anymore and needed to find a good home for him. That is why my husband and I urge everyone that if you are planning to get a pet, whether it's a dog, cat, or any other type, please check with your pound (or killing animal facility) first. Precious animals like Maxx and Peanut need a home and should not be put to sleep because a puppy is cuter.

Wisdom Teeth Scrapping Weekend!

I got my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Since the numbness was still in effect yesterday and Vicodin was also part of the game. I felt tired and drowzy but no pain really. But today was a completely different story. I had a huge jaw pain all day that not even the Vicodin could take away. With the jaw pain came a chin pain and a horrible headache. Thankfully the headache was partially controlled with the Vicodin. So, what do I do in order to try to take my mind off of things? I scrap! And this time was no exception. I was able to finish 13 layouts today! Very proud of the fact that I'm very close (I would say 3/4 of the way done) to finishing my album from Larry's birthday back from September 2009! Here are some of the layouts I did tonight.

Tomorrow I hope I wake up feeling a lot better. At least good enough to continue scrapping. I don't think I will be pushing myself as hard though. I was given advice from one of my virtual friends on SB.com that looking down to create the layouts is what's making my jaw hurt because it hangs. So I'm definitely going to keep that in consideration. The pain was high today and I don't want that to happen tomorrow. Anyways, I appreciate you taking the time so reading my blog entries and seeing my layouts. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoy making them and sharing them with all of you! Thanks again! :o)

Scrapping Weekend

Well this weekend was phenominal! Other than the horrible wisdom toothache that I have been dealing with since Wednesday, I had a wonderful weekend. Friday evening I started scrapping after a long nap that I had to take because of the pain medication that I took for my toothache. Well, ever since I started scrapping that evening, I wouldn't stop! It was like the scrapbug hit me and wouldn't leave (which I'm not complaing about whatsoever). I got to finish my 25th Birthday Album and my Idaho Album that I had already started. Well, to make this story short, I was able to scrapbook 26 pages up to this evening. Most of which were done Friday evening. So here I wanted to share some of the pages that I got done.

Idaho Layouts:

My Birthday Layouts:

Pre-Made Layouts For Miranda's Album:

Thanks for looking. I can't believe how much I was able to scrap this weekend. The thing is... we were BARELY even home. So all of these were done late at night and early in the morning.

Til next time.

Scrapping, Scrapping, Scrapping!

I finally got some scrapping done today... I have been re-organizing my Scraproom still.. not finish yet, but as soon as I am I will take all the pictures to show you how it ended up. I want to share my Project 365 Layouts, as well as my Layouts I made of Maxx today (and one that I made a while ago). I'm so happy I got to scrap though... It kinda took my my mind of things (as always.. I can always count on scrapbooking to make my day better!).

This Layout is of Maxx Dogg when he fell asleep between my husband's legs! It was so stinkin' adorable!
This is a 2 page layout of Maxx Sleeping on the way to Southern California back in October 2008.

These are a few of my Project 365 Layouts that I hadn't shared with you.

I will be posting some Organizational Ideas that I got from the Challenge that is going on at SB.com and some of my own. So check back soon! And as always... Happy Scrapping!

Happy Early Valentine's Day!

Ah yes, Valentine's Day has arrived. In about 3 hours or so, February 14th will be here. Great! I love all the romance-y, cliche, emotional stuff! And even though Hubby and I have been a little down on our luck recently (with money), I am sure to have a wonderful Valentine's Day with my Forever valentine! Today, we sure were busy cleaning and enjoying sometime to work on our hobbies (can you guess mine? ;o)   ) and I was able to do two cards for my Aunt's Doggy and my Cousin's Doggy! I also did a valentine card for one my great co-workers, which I ended up giving to her earlier this week. So nontheless, I hope that you all have a wonderful Valentine's day with your friends, family and/or mate. And may Happiness and Love be forever in our hearts.

For my Cousin's PitBull who's name is Bear

For my Aunt's Pekingese/Pug who is named Quena

Inside both of these I included a picture of my two furbabies. This is the picture:

And here is the card for my Co-Worker:

Dedication:

This post is dedicated to my wonderful husband. The man of my dreams, my reality and my life. I don't need Valentine's day to let you know I love you with all my heart and that you are my one and only. Thank you for your support, love, and faithfulness.

I love you.

Friday Night of Scrapbooking

Tonight was the perfect night to scrapbook.. with my area clearing up of messes and my scrapmojo running... I couldn't see it any other way than to spend my Friday night with my wonderful pictures. I was able to get 3 pages done today. I can't stand the way my computer changed the colors on my white Layout, but oh well. Since, I finished my December 2009 Album... I decided to work on my 25th Birthday album that took place in September of last year. Yes, I just revealed my age... hehehehe. Oh well! Anyways. Before I show you my Layouts.. I do want to show you that I WAS able to get my other Making Memories shelf. I really wanted it on my desk. I love having things at reach but the dumb crowned molding at the top of the shelf wouldn't fit. So Hubby, being as awesome as he is, came up with the idea of putting it upside down. I don't think it looks bad at all... and it fits. And I love the fact that I can have all my tools and thingy-ma-jigs all by me.

I left some open space because I need to buy more flowers and this is the perfect place to store them in. Doesn't look too bad now, does it? Plus for the price of $29.99? Anyways... So having my desk all nice and clean and organized (still in the process of lots more organization, purging, cleaning, etc.) my scrapmojo had been running wild... and I was able to finish 3 layouts for my birthday album (again sorry for the single page layout... those colors are nothing of what the layout actually looks like unfortunately).

Here is the cover page for my album (with details):

And here is a two-page layout for my album.

Mission: Impossible Organization

Oh My Gosh!! I seriously feel like it was just yesterday when My Scraproom was so nice and clean and I had just gone through a Major Organizational Challenge! Yet.. the mess has returned.. and for my disbelieve it's worse than ever. The thing is that the stuff I already had organized last year is still organized, yet I bought so many other scrapbooking supplies, that I slacked in putting them away in their correct spaces. Thankfully, I have joined a "Makeover/Organization ScrapArea" Challenge on SB.com that will help once again get through this mess. Today I was pretty proud of getting a lot of my "Desk Cleanup" done! Still have a lot more to do though.. it's just the first of the month! Here is the before/in progress picture (embarassing):

<--- This is a mess! But like I said before, thankfully a lot of the "old" stuff is still organized, i.e. my chipboard in the bins above, my ribbon (just needed to take out all the empty spools), my markers, etc. etc. But then I have all the additional embellishments, flowers, machines, and other items that are essential to having at my reach! So that's where the problem began. I'm pretty happy with the outcome of just one day of organizing... but I see a long road ahead of me. Hopefully it will as easy as last time, with the help of a wonderful hostess and ladies that get me through this mess on SB.com.

Well and here is the after:

Not bad huh? Yet, I'm hoping to go to the store tomorrow and purchase another Making Memories Embellishment Center (the white large shelf that pretty much is holding everything). Not sure though... normally they are $89.99 here but I found a place that will have only 3 available tomorrow for purchase at $29.99 (never ever seen it that cheap before) so I'm hoping that it's meant to be and I'm able to get the second shelf! Wish me luck with that one. I don't think I did too much of a shabby job. Like I said.. it's barely the beginning. But to be able to clean, make dinner, and still have time to update my blog and scrap 2 pages... I'm pretty good, don't you think? Anyways, keep checking back, I will be posting my progress as time passes.
