Pink Journey Birthday Card

Good evening everyone! How was everyone's Wednesday? I'm starting to get a sore throat and it seems like my toncils are acting up! Ah well! What can I do? Anyways, today I worked on a very special card. It's a card for my dear friends' son. He passed away in 2008 at the young age of 15 and a half. He was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma Cancer, a very rare cancer. It was a horrible year for my friends. I am not a parent, but the death of a child seems to be the most devasting thing on this earth. So ever since his passing, his parents have done whatever it takes to keep his spirit alive. They are an inspiration and wonderful people and love to receive any type of item that reminds them of their son, Andrew. Every year I send them a text on January 6th saying Happy Birthday Andrew! And every year they post on their facebook the same thing. This year, I plan to do something different I will be sending this card below just for him. I used the Pink Journey Cricut Cartridge to make the Sarcoma Cancer ribbon. Added a butterfly and some flowers and bling. I wanted it to be low key, but still be able to bring a smile to their face when they open it. I feel that I achieved it.

This card will be sent off tomorrow and arrive just in time for them to receive it. I pray every night, and during that prayer, I include them to bring them strength and faith. While I was dealing with my own cancer, they were very supportive. I felt a small connection with them, since they know and had expierenced first hand what Cancer is about. So I now have a small favor to ask you, next time you pray, plese pray for this wonderful couple. They are amazing people. Amazing parents. Amazing friends.

By the way, here's what the Pink Journey Cricut Cartridge contains:

Now, to share another card. The inspiration of the card above came from a card that I made last night. It's an early Valentine's Day card that I just absolutely LOVE how it came out. I didn't use any Cricut carts on this one... but essentially used the same template. Just here to share:

Hope you guys continue having a wonderful evening! God bless and see you here tomorrow!

All Occasions Cake Art Card

Hi everyone! Yes, I know two days in a row?? Posts? lol! I told you my scrap mojo is coming back! Today, I was able to make a card with the Martha Stewart All Occassions Cake Art Cartridge! I took pictures of the steps I used! I was feeling really Martha Stewart-y (lol), so I decided to play with some of her goodies today! :o)

First I want to share with you the images the cartridge contains:

I decided to make the little birdie just because I thought he was way too cute to pass up. I cut the birdie in pink and the branch in craft paper. I believe the cutting size was 3.8.

I liked the idea of using the kraft paper for the branch because it looks so "woody," if you know what I mean. I then was able to apply glue on the leaves and add on some Martha Stewart Flocking Powder in the "Fennel" color.

It gives a velvety feeling (if that's even a word) lol.

I let it dry and then finished off my card with some ribbon and with a DCWV Whimsy Cardstock page cut on my Cricut Imagine with the default images that it has. I cut it at 4.5. Of course I had to add some bling and a cute handstamp sentiment! :o)

I hope this motivates you to play with your cartridges more often! I get home really excited thinking about what cartridge I'm going to use next!

Thanks for stopping by and as always...

Happy Scrapping!!

Happy New Year 2012!

I know. I've been MIA for a very long time. I do apologize. It's been a good busy here in the Tristan home. Work and family/friends have kept us very happy. I start my job full time tomorrow. And that's going to keep me even more busy. I also hadn't had much of a scrappy mojo until now. I've been cleaning this scrapspace and it's definitely working up something. :o) So we'll see how that goes. I did updated my Cake Blog, so if you have a chance to check it out, please do. Here are some Vegas pictures of when we went in September for my sister in law's wedding. It was so nice!

Have a wonderful day!

What a Year...

It has been one crazy year... if you have been following my blog all this year... you know exactly what I am talking about. I have gone through a lot. And right when I think my life is getting back to what I thought was "normal," I get laid off! Yup! If you are a friend of mine on facebook, you already knew that. My last day at my job (after 5 years) is September 2nd. What joy!!! NOT! I have been applying left and right trying to get this life of mine back. I haven't done much scrapping.. lot's of cards though... and that's only because of birthdays, and new precious babies being born, etc. I have done a lot of baking! Please make sure to check out my Little Cake Blog and click "LIKE" on my facebook page, "My Sweet Shoppe." You won't regret it, I promise!

Well, I know I haven't been around much.. other than the above mentioned, I'm doing pretty well. I go in for my 3 month check up this Thursday, So I'm praying that all of that goes well. I wanted to share with you a little of my scrapping I have done.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much, even after promising I would. It's just been hectic. The only reason why I'm connected to world much is because I have a smart phone. Which if you notice a lot of my facebook posts come via Android. I love you all and miss you as well. I hope everyone is doing so wonderful and blessed.

I'm Back!

Whoa! I haven't been around commenting or even posting for a WHILE! I'm so sorry that I vanished so spontaneously like that. I have been one hectic monster. It's been so busy around here. I'm thankful that I get to go back to work this Monday. This crappy Cancer stuff is going to be officially behind me and my life will be back to it's crazy yet normal self. Thank you to those whom were concern for me and asking if I was ok. It was really inconsiderate of me to vanish like I did from the blog world without a trace. But I'm back and ready to go check you ladies out. I have done VERY LITTLE scrapping. Last week I was busy with my cake that I had to make (which you can check out at Nati's Little Cake Blog). And just busy with life unfortunately. But healthy and happy and thankful to God to give me the energy to live life happily. Here are a couple of cards I made and a layout for my Mexico Album.

I also got some carts this month. I got the Once upon a Princess and Spongebob! Yay!

And last but not least I got an awesome rack that a scrapbook store in town was closing down and got for a great price.

Which in turn meant I had to move around some stuff..

I hope you all have had a great time and I wish you all a blessed and happy weekend. Take care!

Happy Scrapping!
